Nik doesn't have a life outside her perfectly undemanding job-and honestly, she's fine with that.
Her mother, however, is not.
And when her mother decides Nik needs to "get a life" (literally), peace is no longer an option.
Enter Femi: polished, annoyingly proper, and conveniently saved her from one of her worst decisions one night. He also happens to have his own "girl troubles."
So Nik strikes a deal.
She'll help keep his complicated situation from getting messier, and in return, he becomes her temporary social lifeline-proof to her mother that she is, in fact, living.
Simple. Clean. Strictly beneficial.
Except somewhere between fake arrangements and real conversations, Nik starts to suspect she may have agreed to something far more complicated than she signed up for.

Temper was always different, but not for all the normal reasons. For one thing, she had fiery red hair. That wasn't the only reason though- she also had a strange power, the power to control fire. It's the first day of June's senior year and everything is already going wrong.
