Elain is worn down by sleepless nights spent caring for Nyx, but it's not just exhaustion that keeps her awake. A deeper pull-one that tugs at her heart-leads her thoughts to Azriel, the shadowsinger whose presence stirs something inside her. As the weight of unspoken feelings builds and the bond with another looms over her, Elain finds herself caught between duty and desire. When a quiet moment brings her face-to-face with Azriel, she must decide if she's ready to acknowledge the connection that draws her to him.

This is the story that follows the slow burn romance between Steve Rogers and SHIELD agent Emma Baker. Emma is a SHIELD reporter who spends her free time blogging about the city with her close friend Maria Hill. This knowledge of the modern day New York City is what makes Director Fury believe that Emma is the perfect woman to help Steve get acclimated to the world he wakes up in. Follow Emma's journey of reconciling with love, facing her past, and sticking up for what she believes in no matter the cost all while grappling her feelings for a teammate. Anyways! As one has to do with most fan fiction stories, I am obligated to say that I in fact do not own any of the characters mentioned in this story besides Emma Baker and her family along with the occasional original side character. All other characters belong to Marvel Studios. I will be following the storyline of the movies almost to a T at times, so some of the storyline again I do not own, I only own my original writing and characters. All that being said, although I will be following the MCU movie timeline and storyline, I do claim the liberty to make some changes that fit my story and how I want to write it because like the wonderful Stan Lee said, "You can only do your best work if you're doing what you want to do and if you're doing it the way you think it should be done." So love the changes I make or hate them, this story is something I take a lot of pride in and it's how I want it to be. I'm claiming this as my own little branch timeline :)
