The Paralyzed Dream (COMPLETED) by Cowgirl1515
40 parts Complete
Lacey Anne Ferry grew up on a cattle ranch in Montana where riding horses was an everyday part of her life. She loved the horses, cattle, and the hard work that came with living on a working ranch. In the little free time that she had, Lacey rodeoed. When she wasn't running barrels, she was roping; when she wasn't roping, she was pole bending; when she wasn't pole bending, she was cutting...the list went on. Lacey Ferry was the one cowgirl that everyone wanted to beat. She was phenomenal at every rodeo event that she competed in. Everything that was familiar to Lacey came crashing down around her when a freak barrel racing accident left her paralyzed from the waist down...and terrified of horses. Two things that she never thought she'd be. Instead of being outside almost 24/7 like she was before her accident, Lacey now refuses to leave the house. The doctors say that Lacey will never be able to walk, rodeo, or even ride a horse ever again. New ranch hand, Chet Slade Reid, "Slade," sets out to show Lacey that that stuff doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. Can Slade help Lacey to get her confidence and love for horses back, or will her accident have left her too scarred to "get back on the horse" and "cowgirl up"? Slade was hired as a ranch hand, but as he sets out to help Lacey get the courage to ride again, he finds himself attracted to her. Despite his growing affection for her, Slade's dark past keeps him from telling Lacey his true feelings for her. Lacey sets aside her own insecurities to comfort Slade when a person from his past resurfaces. With God's help, will Slade and Lacey be able to live in the present but look forward to the future, or will they stay paralyzed in the past?

Madeline Cartwright, Virginia City's school teacher, has a brilliant plan for a school program that her students will perform at the end of the term. But a wrench is thrown into her plans when none of her three stepbrothers or ranch hand Candy Canaday can build the wooden stage she needs so that the program will run smoothly. So even though it's the last thing she wants to do, she accepts Kevin Butler's offer to build it for her. Kevin Butler never expected Ben Cartwright's oldest stepdaughter to accept his offer, especially since they aren't exactly friends and almost always rub each other the wrong way, ending up in a hot, fiery argument. In fact, they've nearly become enemies thanks to their knack for doing that but as time goes on, he begins to see her true colors and he discovers that she's not as mean and hot tempered as she seems. Even though neither of them realizes it, the wooden stage and Kevin's seven-year-old son, Oakley are bringing them together and by the time they finally figure out what they mean to each other, it's nearly too late. Find out if Madeline from Rose, My Love will find finally find love and if Kevin can let himself love again after losing his wife.
