I Am Elyse

Born in a Christian family, the youngest and the only girl among three siblings, Elyse was assumed to be too fragile, spoiled and a born pleaser. However, none of those descriptions really fits her personality for at a very young age she have shown how she stands on her opinion, one of the reason why she often argue with her mother. But life wasn't that bad at all, she has a cool dad who has been very supportive to her ever since. Yes, he is her number one fan. Her brothers are typical brothers who annoy her every now and then, but definitely love her though it's quite not obvious. Elyse was loved in a way that she felt no need to look outside their home to get the affection she needs as she grows up.
Everything seems perfect until she started to go out her comfort zone - college and beyond. She discovers that there are hallow spaces to avoid and addictive pleasures to run away from. She learned that there are things in life that seems so easy to do when you read it from the Bible, but the real challenge is when it confronted you point blank. She discovers that the Elyse everybody knows is not the person she really is. She realize that life is bigger than it seems, but God's grace is much bigger.

After consuming half the bottle of her sleeping pills, Elyse is lying in the hospital bed staring at the ceiling still puzzled on how she ended in that place. At the corner of her head there is a rejection for the realization that she is still alive because there is a huge dismissive banner on that corner saying "I'm done!" But on the other corner she found God's grace saying "I am not yet done with you."
