Kim Rok Soo, a modern man who once lived an ordinary life, suddenly finds himself transported into the world of The Birth of a Hero. However, in this alternate twist of fate, he does not wake up as Cale Henituse, the trash noble destined for greatness. Instead, Kim emerges as a mysterious, powerful figure, caught in the middle of a battle between the hero Choi Han and the villainous White Star.

Offered a chance by the White Star to return to his original world in exchange for his loyalty, Kim reluctantly joins forces with the enemy. But as he grows entangled in the White Star's web of power and manipulation, Kim begins to question the cost of his alliance. Faced with impossible choices, his morals begin to blur as he watches both heroes and villains move across a dangerous chessboard.

Torn between the temptation to escape and the bonds he begins to form with unexpected allies, Kim must decide whether to fight against the fate he's been dealt or become the very monster he once feared.
