We know her story. But have you ever wondered what it was like on the home front, in District 12? This story is Gale's, his outlook on the games, his feelings about his best friend's situation, and his interactions with the people of District 12. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination. Please do not attempt to recreate it in any form. Additionally, if ideas in this work are similar to that of other writings, it is purely coincidental and I apologize deeply for any inconvenience. Gale and Katniss have been friends forever but things slowly start to change My first book May have some Grammar errors

My friends and I role play a lot in this website called chatzy.com. We have this whole world mapped out based on the Hunger Games. We live in two mansions. One is the main mansion, where we all used to live until it got really crowded, and then there is the second mansion, which is by a waterfall, just a ten minute walk away. There's also a tree house, but only Gracie and Andrea live there. Most of us have super powers. I mean, if the Capitol can make mutts, surely we can give ourselves super powers. Gracie has black wings, Talia has super speed, Chris has super strength, Derrick and Cameron can make themselves invisible. Brendan can't get hurt or feel pain. We all have issues here. Sierra doesn't talk. Andrea has scars on her face. Chris is a germaphobe. Gracie was once anorexic. Cameron was once an assassin. We all have reasons for running away from the districts and the Capitol, but we've all found sanctuary here. We've defended our home for so long. Now it is time to start fighting back.
