Born into a life of crime, young Robin Torchwick didn't know much. But he did know that he came first, and if he wasn't first he might as well be last.

His own father didn't help much, often dragging him into his own crimes. He's a criminal first and foremost, but he does care about the little guy. Sometimes, anyways. If he had extra, maybe he could give it to someone who needs it. Maybe it would end up with someone struggling with finances, or with an orphanage needing funding.
