Bizarre things are happening in the sleepy desert town of Vernon County, or so Axel Anderson believes.

Axel Anderson grew up in the small town of Vernon County, Arizona. His devotion to his family is relentless. When his mother goes missing, his devotion is put to the test. He begins a frantic search for her, fearful that she has fallen prey to coyotes like the two previous residents who went missing. Axel's search leads him to a military research facility on the edge of town. Something in his gut tells him that his mother is somewhere inside the futuristic cinder block fortress. Axel is warned to stay away from the place.

Enter Drew Hudson, a man with ties to the facility and a deadly secret tucked away in his heart. He wants to quickly escape from Vernon County but his affection for his long-lost friend, Axel, stops him. Drew tries his best to persuade Axel to stay away from the facility but loses the battle when Axel has a chance encounter with a bizarre soldier who gives him an ominous message.

Propelled by an unrelenting curiosity and the fear of forever losing his mother, Axel battles on. He heads to the facility to search for answers and his mother, but what he finds would leave him questioning his sanity. Vernon County sits in the crosshairs of a savage, heartless beast fueled by a relentless need to hunt and kill. What Vernon County believed were coyote attacks was something far more nefarious. Axel needs to find a way to warn his town or he will have to watch them die one by one at the hands of this dangerous predator.
