Bakugou's ego took a hit with the way you handled everything flawlessly while he had some trouble and you slowly fell out of love due to his personality. Constant arguments were made and the relationship ended in bad terms. You got into an accident half a year through your break-up and it cost you your memories.
Bakugou took you under his care and spent his time protecting you from everything you couldn't remember.
