"Do ya get it, Reo..?"
Karasu shifted his weight, turning to face Reo with an uncharacteristically serious expression. "Do ya know what this means...? It means he-"
"I get it, Karasu... I get it. So please..."
Karasu handed Reo a shiny silver ring, explaining that it had been meant for him from Nagi-intended to be given ten years ago, but never delivered. What seemed like a simple, forgotten token soon revealed itself to be far more than Reo could have imagined. The ring held a hidden power: the ability to send him back in time, to the very moment when everything changed. Confronted with a pivotal moment that altered the course of his life, Reo is forced to relive his memories, face his regrets, and unravel truths he thought were long buried.
What begins as a startling discovery evolves into a dangerous journey through time. As Reo uses the ring to alter events in an effort to save Nagi from a devastating fate, he finds himself grappling with the ripple effects of his actions. Memories fracture, relationships warp, and the people he thought he knew become entangled in a web of unexpected connections.
But the ring was no simple tool of second chances-it carried a cost, one that demanded more than Reo was prepared to give. The deeper he ventured into the past, the closer he came to losing himself in the labyrinth of altered timelines. And as he pushed against the unyielding force of fate, he began to wonder: could he really save Nagi, or was he only dooming them both to a future neither of them could escape?
Promise in the Glass of Time is a story of love, regret, and the unforgiving nature of time. Reo's journey to save the person he holds most dear becomes a harrowing exploration of how far someone will go to mend what's broken-and whether some things are better left untouched.
"Grand Sage Alhaitham!"
Alhaitham turned around slowly and replied, "What?"
The scholar, either dumb and imperceptive or uncaring, pressed on and continued to annoy Alhaitham. Alhaitham guessed the latter, as the former wasn't likely, considering the fact that he worked for the Akademiya. But then again, given Azar's previous hiring policies, it wouldn't exactly surprise Alhaitham if the scholar had barely passed his thesis statement.
"About the funding for Spantamad, the ley lines have been acting up recently, so could you approve-"
"My working hours are listed outside my office," Alhaitham interrupted tersely. "Contact me then."
"But Grand Sage-"
"Acting Grand Sage Alhaitham. My position is nothing else if temporary. If you wish to raise a complaint about my working hours, please take it up with Lesser Lord Kusanali. She can be found in the Sanctuary of Surasthana."
Alhaitham turned back around and walked away swiftly, hand in pocket, ready to pull out his keys, when the scholar suddenly grabbed his arm.
