"You should reject me." He whispered.

She was silent. He didn't dare to look into the alpha's eyes, he knew that if he did, he would lose his resolve. Instead, he fixed his eyes on their feet. She took a step towards him, he took a step back. Soon he had his back to the wall and her face right in front of his.

"Why?" Her voice was low and teasing, "You were quite confident, asking me to mark you. Why the change of heart?" Her hand snaked around his waist, nails digging into his lower back.

He squirmed. "I did...and I like you, but... They'll kill me to get to you. R-Rejecting me would hurt a lot less than my death and, besides..." He laughed a little, "I'm not really worth it-"

"That's for me to decide, Elias."

He gasped as he was pushed into the wall, her body pressing against him and one of her legs between his. His heart raced and breath quickened, feeling her intense gaze trap him in the best way possible. He shivered and looked at everything but her, suppressing the sudden pulse of pleasure.

"Look at me."

He raised his violet eyes to meet her molten gold. He could never tell what she was thinking behind her mysterious smile.

She traced her mark on his collarbone, not breaking eye contact. He jolted.

"Nothing can touch you as long as you're with me. Understood?"

"Ye-yes..."
