He was a shadow who lurked in darkness, She was the light who illuminated his existance. He was a puzzle wrapped in an enigma, She was the bane to his existance. He was a man after his own heart, She was his heartbeat. If he was winter, she was his spring, And he couldn't face it without her. Simon Riley was no stranger to loss. From the brutal murder of his broken family, to the life of every soldier snuffed out by the bullet of a faceless enemy. Having his loved ones, his friends unceremoniously torn away from him never got any easier. It wounded him in ways that, while not visible, cut him deeper than any knife ever could. The toll it took permeated every aspect of his existance, infiltrating his sense of self and dismantling his identity. A once deeply empathetic man found himself surrendering to indifference; suffocating meaningful connections before they had time to breathe. He sought solace in detatching himself from others before they could affect him deeply enough for their eventual loss to shatter what little humanity he clung to. Over time, a callous layer formed around Simon's heart- as though an impenetrable shield encased him. Throbbing emotional wounds slowly turned into numb scars, each one an indelible mark on his soul. It felt like he was drowning; being pulled under by an invisible undertow into the depths of sorrow. Every breath became a battle, each gasp a desperate attempt to surface above the crushing waves of loss. Through the suffocating darkness, there was no tranquility. No respite from the insatiable abyss that consumed joy and drowned laughter. It wasn't any one thing that slowly began to chip away at Simon's carefully constructed walls. By the time he became the cornerstone of Task Force 141, very few people knew the man beneath it all. The real Simon Riley, that was until, she came along. Story will include slowburn and erotica. With a threat growing in the shadows, Lieutenant Drew "Daisy" Farrell is sought out for TF141, an elite squad of soldiers trained to deal with the world's most serious threats. The transition onto the team goes smoothly, except for the animosity between her and her fellow task force Lieutenant. Despite the anger between them, Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley --the grumpy-ass, arrogant, rude, frustrating, control freak of a man-- manages to distract her with his coffee-colored eyes and sinful touches, leaving her cursing him in more ways than one. But as the target terrorist organization avoids their grasp, he shows her exactly what she can have if she simply listens. ⁂ For anyone else who is feral over Simon Riley and enemies to lovers, this is for you ;) This story contains a lot of smutty chapters, however, there is still plenty of plot to go along with it. Chapters will be noted if they have smut... in case you're curious... This story does NOT follow the video games, ie. Soap's not dead <3 CW: cannon level violence, swearing, explicit sex, threats and inuendoes referring to SA *Warnings will be posted at the top of chapters. Excerpt: He turned to her then, stepping close enough that he brushed against her knees. "Is it possible for you to keep your mouth shut?" he asked lowly. "What? Am I getting on your nerves?" His eyes narrowed at her. "You're gettin' close to an ass-chewing." "Can't handle a little banter, sir?" "You're insubordinate." "And you're sensitive." He let out a frustrated growl. It only served to encourage her. "You wanna take that thing off? It's hard to tell how you're feeling without seeing your face." A very obvious lie, especially when his eyes showed her everything she needed to know. He was pissed.

Quiet Tension

24 parts Complete Mature

Simon "Ghost" Riley is friendly enough. He's a killing machine, one of the primary members of Task Force 141. He takes pride in who he is and what he does, and loves a good challenge. When someone comes into his life that's a little too challenging, well... he doesn't like it. Ivy Cavanaugh is strong-willed and smart. As a cyber-security professional, she's placed with one of the most intimidating teams: Task Force 141, in order to impact their success in the field. Some may say she's stiff and unfeeling, but she doesn't like when people swerve into her lane. Certainly not when they're a cocky special forces operator. The two meet, and despite Ghost's best efforts, clash. Can they work things out, or will it be tense forever?
