With the Monkey King possessed, and this Macaque guy who the Monkey King seemed to know also possessed, MK was in a bad situation... With the Lady Bone Demon and the mayor also after him, it only made it worse! MK, now separated from his friends, was worried about them and scared for himself.
Seeing your ex from hundreds, maybe even thousands, of years ago, that you just so happened to kill, back from the dead only to be possessed and on the opposite side isn't something the King of the Monkeys was all too happy to see. He knew he had to fight the six eared simian, who wasn't even in control of his own mind and body, but he couldn't bear to hurt him like he did before.

The reader is MK's non-identical twin sister. When Pigsy both sent the two out for noodle deliveries, MK went to deliver his stack of noodles, while you did your deliveries, and while you did your deliveries, you found a staff, for a second, you thought it was Monkey King's staff, but it was black highlighted with gold. He struggles with PTSD and severe trauma. He thinks everything that happened was his fault, and he lives scared that he'll do another stupid thing that'll change the world to worse. Even tho he really wants to be friends with Red Son, he's scared that he'll make another persons life worse because of him. Even after those thoughts, he still will do anything to help those in need.
