If there is something history has ever told us is that we need someone to make us behave, and here in Rookstone we have our own personal vigilante -a serial killer. The wraith of Rookstone, we call them. Or at least, that is how we would call the killer if we ever talked about them. But in Rookstone, we prefer to keep things like that that quiet. Now, someone new wants to investigate the case, and for some reason Iris Gray has gotten involved in finding this serial killer. We can already spoil, that this isn't going to end well. Bailey Carson, a criminal justice student and police intern, has always been fascinated by serial killers and the horror genre--but she never expected to find herself living in one. When a series of brutal murders terrorizes her university, Bailey becomes consumed by the case, especially when the victims aren't just strangers-they're people she knew. Her best friend, Eva Watson, is her complete opposite--an art student who avoids anything violent or gory. But as the body count rises and fear spreads across campus, Eva is forced to step outside her comfort zone, helping Bailey and the police uncover the killer before it's too late. But the deeper Bailey digs, the clearer it becomes that these murders aren't random. The victims were chosen, and the killer is leaving a message. For her. As the city enforces a curfew and paranoia sets in, Bailey realizes the killer isn't a faceless monster hiding in the shadows--he's someone close. Someone watching. Someone who has been waiting. And he isn't done yet. Book trailer (inside) made by the lovely ClaraElisibeth **Trigger Warnings listed inside**
