A Currency Of Time

The world is overpopulated. Twins are illegal. Any expectant mother found to be carrying multiple babies has a choice- abort early or euthanise all but the firstborn.
Maddy cheated the system. She has identical twin boys who masquerade as one child. For two years, they have edged closer to the safe haven of Tollencia, but time has run out. Maddy has been brought in for questioning, and she must buy as much time as she can for her family to escape, or else they will all be killed.
