After Applebloom's big sister's friend Twilight revives the unfortunate people who died on the ship (which includes Cora's parents) after turning back time to save them, Cora's parents take a carriage to a small, dirty village outside of New York City and buy a broken down house with the little money they have. Cora starts school and comes across another little girl who needs her help as she gathers the courage to stand up to bullies.

Unlike my other books in the series, this takes place before all of them reunite. So this takes place a few months after Violet and Applebloom leave to return back to their worlds after accomplishing the mission and after Rose mysteriously disappears, leaving Jack to go into a spiral of depression and desperation, searching for his long lost love.
