When Mereniver Hador, a girl in her late teens, is discovered to be a memaid, she has to run. She flees into the forest in hopes that she will never be found but of course that is not the case. The Company of Thorin Oakensheild does not know what to make of her. They want her to come along but their leader doesn't want anything to do with her but she has no choice. She can go back to her old life and be sold to the highest bidder, or she can follow the dwarves, where her fate is uncertain. Which will she choose? And when she does, what will become of her?
Please give my story a chance, it will take a few chapter before it gets going, I am open to feedback.

What happens when an assassin who's heart isn't in it - or is a little TOO in it - is sent to take the life of Thorin Oakenshield? Will she go through with her assignment? Or will she find herself incapable of doing what she needs to do to save those she cares for? One thing's for certain, (Y/N) is on one slippery slope! *For the record, I most definitely don't own The Hobbit or it's characters. The credit for all that awesomeness goes to J.R.R Tolkien and Peter Jackson. As for (Y/N), her backstory belongs to me, but she belongs to you!* Just so you all know, although this is a character x reader story, our little romance won't really show many signs of appearing in the beginning, so be prepared to read a fairly large amount of build-up before our love story truly begins. And, for the sake of the fic, we're gonna say Thorin is 103 and (Y/N) is 100 in the first chapter. Remember, (Y/N) is a skin-changer, and based on the 'research' I've done on the topic, skin-changers have lifespans relatively longer than those of average humans, and since no one ever really specified the exacts, I'll do what I wish with them. For the sake of the story, we'll say skin-changer lifespan can vary; some can live to be 500, others may just live to 100. AND for the sake of the fic, we'll say (Y/N) will live to be somewhere near the middle. Don't worry though, she definitely doesn't look old. And for the record, yes I get that Thorin's age in this doesn't really take into account the falling of Erebor and his presence in it, but lets just say that all of those happenings were a little more recent. BAM! (Also, if you are reading this fanfiction and like it, it would be very helpful if you shared it with other people! But don't feel required to or anything; you guys just reading my work is enough. =D) (ALSO also, if you do like this fanfiction, feel free to vote on it or comment. If you don't, I'm perfectly open to constructive criticism, but please no rude comments.)

When exiled Elf Ariel Greenleaf is found unconscious just beyond the borders of Mirkwood by the Company, they are ready to dispatch her without hesitation. It isn't until their leader, Thorin Oakenshield convinces them that she could be a powerful bargaining chip in their quest to reclaim Ereborn. For Ariel, being the dwarves' prisoner is only slightly better than succumbing to the elements beyond her home. But, that doesn't mean she is grateful to them or even willing to help. After all, dwarves and elves are enemies and dwarves cannot possibly be trusted. Especially Thorin Oakenshield. But fate has a way of turning enemies into something far more complicated. And for Ariel and Thorin, neither is prepared for the turn fate has in store for them. **note, I'm rather new to the world of Tolkien, so please be patient as I especially have a hard time keeping the dwarves all straight (except for Thorin, of courese :). ) This story takes place prior to the events of The Hobbit
