The crowd was hushed. All eyes fell on me.

My eyes were looking the batter up and down.

 I held the ball behind my back and felt the lace run against my fingers. 

I stood up straight, removing the dirt stained mitt from under my left arm. I closed my eyes and inhaled. The wind whipped past my ears sending my ponytail in every direction. 

I opened my eyes and it was just Benny and I on the field.

Pitcher and catcher.

This was it. 

 The moment we have fought so hard for.

Bases loaded. 

2 outs 2 strikes.

The pitch that defined this school. This team. That defined me. 

I took one last breath and lifted me leg up to my chest and threw my arm back. 
In the blink of my blue eyes the ball was thrown. 

I'm Maya hart. And this is how I changed the game of baseball. This is how I changed Jimtown High School.
