Mason Walker was an exceptionally bright young man with good grades and a full ride soccer scholarship to Stanford already lined up the second he graduated. He was one of the popular kids with girls falling at his feet and he lived comfortably in a well off working class home. His life was perfect.

Until it wasn't.

After the sudden death of his mother, Mason is confronted with the harsh realities of the world. And his emotionally absent father sends him off to live with his aunt after finding him swapping spit with one of the boys on their street, thinking the change of scenery would straighten out his behaviors.

But the quaint, quiet town of Hawkins isn't as it seems. Mason's world is turned upside down as he's thrusted into the fight against other worldly creatures and crazy scientists. And having a childhood crush on his cousin's boyfriend makes it all more complicated.
