Who the hell could possibly want my attention at three in the fucking morning?

Shadow tossed his covers off him and swung gracelessly out of bed. He didn't bother hitting the lights-he'd been designed as an ultimate weapon, so night vision was one of his perks. He navigated the hall and the spacious expanse of his tidy living room to arrive on his doorstep.

He glowered out the peephole, seeing nobody but still certainly hearing the incessant knocking growing weaker and fainter. "I'm working on it, shut the fuck up!" The pounding on the oak stopped with his sour words as he unlocked the deadbolt and doorknob.

When an early morning visitor leads Shadow on an impromptu mission, he discovers something he wishes he hadn't. Now tasked with handling the fate of the world again, Shadow, along with his friends and allies, forge their way across the world to restore purity to what was corrupted.

Along the way, they encounter opposition; a freak of nature beyond any word. Could it have any part in the corruption? Could it even be defeated?

And what did this "Lusus Naturae" have to do with Shadow?
