Second installment of A Soldier's Sorrows, stories about a soldier of Einheit and the dark moments they face, whether it end well or not.
Burden and Blight:
Allistar Winson, an infantryman of the Einheitian Guard, chose to retire early on account of loosing his right eye, arm and leg to an artillery shell. He didn't have to as he had recieved prosthetics, but he chose to. Why? Because on the field, he would be dead weight, merely slowing his comrades down. And so, he returns home. He tries his best to adjust to his new condition, but he can't shake off the feeling that he was just making things difficult for everyone around him, a broken thing that they'll eventually give up on and abandon or throw away.
