Michael Stryker, a down-on-his-luck game developer, has poured everything into his latest project, an RPG blending modern tech with ancient myth. Determined to make it a success despite years of failure, Michael is blindsided when a mysterious message on his computer asks if he's ready to bring his world to life. With a click, his game breaks through the digital barrier, spilling mythical creatures and arcane powers into the real world and binding him to it as the "Game Maker."

Now, as creatures from his game emerge into his city, and modern life is overlaid with ancient symbols, Michael must adapt fast. Armed only with his limited Game Maker powers and his intimate knowledge of the code he wrote, he finds himself on a quest to control the chaos he unleashed. As reality glitches into something new, Michael faces creatures, allies, and rivals from his own imagination. But with each level he gains, the stakes grow higher.
