"It was a mistake..." She told her mother, folding her hands into each other. "Marrying him..." Her mother said nothing, she simply sat there as her only daughter stood across from her, on the verge of collapsing from bruised ribs and cracked shins. "Mom." She wanted to reach out, softly tap her aging mother. Though that was the restriction of her life. The binding stereotype that she was gentle and slow to anger. In reality, what wanted to explode from her ribs was a scream of an animal, and the tears of repressed rage and fear. She wanted to throw her body onto the floor, but the thought made her damaged body ache more. There was no response from her mother. The deafening silence reminded her of her own quietness as her husband shouted at her, his fists bloody. He told her that she was only a tool for his amusement and a money-whore for her indigent family. She was nothing else but a tool for both parties. And she was starting to believe him. --------------------- Sarah Johnsen's life spirals from the normal gritty resilient fight to a serene wonderland. On the outside, she's married to a kind family with untold riches, but on the inside, her husband is the devil himself. Forcefully married at 18, Sarah was forced to kill her own dreams of becoming a doctor in order to bind her poor family to the rich bastards of Glendale by marrying their youngest; Oliver Grean. Their arrangement had the ability to brew the largest timespan of misery any of them has ever known. From lost toddlers to paid staged kidnappings, the binding of the two families, the Johnsen's and the Grean's created a mixture of chaos, confusion, sorrow, fear, grief, and dangerous rage. And there seems to be no haven to escape to. Or is there? (TW: Rape, molestation, abuse, kidnapping, abandonment, swearing, murder, drug use, suicide attempts/thoughts, necrophilia, fire; READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!) !-A series of lore for the Stratford Series (first installment is "Casanova")-! "Humans. You always have to go sticking your nose where it just doesn't belong. There are repercussions but you silly mortals think everything revolves around you," he cooed in a deep voice. He turned me to face the wall and I felt his warm breath curling on my ear as he buried his nose in my hair. "Get off me. Let me go, creep," I tried to struggle out of his tight grip. He refused to let me go and let out a dark chuckle, a tight grip on my wrists as he pinned them to the wall by my head. He took one last deep breath. "You're going to learn not to go sneaking around, love," he smirked deviously. Before I could stop him he bit into the vein in my neck, taking deep gulps of the crimson liquid spilling onto my shoulder and seeping into the fabric of my shirt. I felt myself get dizzy and I curled into the man before falling into a deep sleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Imagine being forced into an entire other world you didn't even know existed. Ella Darling was an ordinary art history major in college until she had pressed the wrong button on an elevator and saw their world. She didn't know what was what nor did she have the time to figure anything out before she was being claimed by the dark vampire, Tom Keifer. Tom Keifer; recluse, outcast, introvert, billionaire, had been looking for love as long as he could remember. He had it all; every girl wanted him, he was extremely well off from a very successful business, and he had all the power he could ask for. One thing was still missing in his life despite everything he had. He was about to give up on love until he saw her. He smelled the blood running through her veins from a mile away. Knowing a human shouldn't have been where she was he found his way over to her. All he knew was two things: One, she was a mortal. Two: He would stop at absolutely nothing to make her his bound mate.

ROGUE REBORN - ONC 2023

18 parts Complete Mature

**OPEN NOVELLA CONTEST SHORTLIST** Even if she is killed, she is never dead. ***** She'd spent many, many years in the same body, getting used to her quirks, her mannerisms, learning how to survive through the ages. Yet Josephine wakes up one night and realizes she's been asleep for a century: it's now 2023, and her last memory was being on a boat with friends back in 1923. As an immortal woman--a Reborn--she can never truly die, but if mortally wounded or killed, her body disintegrates, and her essence roams for one hundred years before it creates a new body to inhabit. If she slept for so long, it can only mean one thing: someone murdered her back on that boat, and now she needs to find out who and why. *** ONC entry based on prompt #2: "One night you woke from the dead. For you, you were gone mere seconds, for the world you were gone almost a century. How will you navigate this new world?"
