Welcome to The Academy, where all music prodigies are enrolled. They have normal classes, such as math, history, science, and English/Language Arts. But, they pride in their students' musical talents. You have the classic stereotypes, the jocks, the preps, and the rebels, but here, they become unexpected friends.
The Academy is a "fan-fic" of many of my favorite bands.
Many song references, strong language, and a little romance ahead. Read at your own risk.

Ever heard of those schools back then filled with strict teachers and perfect students ? Yeah, well they still exist. Let me introduce you to Redberry Academy for girls . Where rules are never broken and you only talk when spoken to . All of us have our futures planed out. I did too, until I met someone that changed it all. Someone who taught me things that I would never have known . Who showed me things that I never noticed . Who made me feel things that nobody else has made me feel before . I have always wanted to break a rule before , but that person made me break them all . That boy saved me from being someone that I'm not. Most importantly though he showed me how to fall in love . "Who do you think you are? You are just some nerd." He sneered at me, looking down at me like he already owned this place. I chuckled at his ignorance, "Honey, I'm the nerd who rules the school." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You know those cliché stories where it is either 'player and nerd', 'bad boy and nerd', 'bad girl and nerd', 'bad girl and bad boy' etc. What do all those have in common? Well, there's always a nerd that's weak and bullied. That's either the damsel in distress or she suddenly turns badass. But sorry to say, my story is completely different. People fear me, no one dares to bully me, even the cheerleaders and our school's star quarterback bow down to me. Oh you think I'm the 'bad girl'? Sorry, but I'm the nerd who rules the school. "Well then. That's the first time a girl has ever rejected my close proximity," he said, eyes ablaze with a playful fire. "You better get used to it," I retorted as I spun on my heel and headed for the school doors that led to the outside. "I've never met anyone like you before," he called after me, this time, not coming after me. "I know, Romeo. I'm a special little snowflake," I called back, not turning around. "You got the 'little' part right there, Princess!" he shouted after me. I threw up my middle finger back to him and heard him laugh as I exited out the doors rather dramatically. ... I'm tired of all those high school stories about a straight-A girl student with the perfect life who falls for the stereotypical Mr. Bad Boy who wears leather black jackets and only has a soft spot for her. That's not how the real world works, sweetheart. I may look like a damsel, but I'm never in distress. ... Once When You Were Mine
High school in the early 90s: it was before cell phones and social media, but the problems were the same. How do you get the guy you're interested in to notice you? What happens if you fall in love with your best friend? Why does physics class keep factoring into your love life? This novella is loosely based on my own high school experiences... but sort of an alternate version of them. You can only make one set of choices in life, so it's fun to explore what could have been - but wasn't - in fiction. Also, set in 1991-92, this is kind of a period piece now! In some ways it's a love letter to the teen books I read back in the 80s and 90s, in particular those by Ellen Conford and Paula Danzinger. I hope you enjoy it. This story was featured on Wattpad in 2016.Complete
