He leans in, his breath ghosting over my skin, every inch of space between us collapsing. "Still pretending you have a choice?" His voice is soft, almost amused. My throat tightens, but I force the words out anyway. "I don't belong to you." A low, knowing chuckle rumbles through him. Fingers tighten around my chin, tilting my face up until I'm caught in his unyielding gaze. Cold. Calculating. "Belong?" he echoes, as if the word itself is laughable. "You exist because I allow it. You breathe because I haven't taken that from you, yet." Tears burn at the edges of my vision, but I don't dare look away. "Fight all you want," he murmurs, eyes scanning my face, his grip unshaking. The Child of Cataclysm
Martier and his dragon, Skirin, have built a lasting friendship over the years that the Children of Cataclam has hunted them. They have fought together and laughed together, and Martier has sworn an oath to protect Skirin. No matter what. But then one day, Martier meets two soldiers from the Furghon Empire tasked with exterminating the Children. Martier agrees to go with them to their home, where he and Skirin can hopefully find a place where they belong, not knowing that is where their destiny awaits. Old memories are rekindled, and new friendships are forged on this journey of a child finding his way home. ----- This is an original novella. While the concept of a particular part of this story has been inspired by another source, I am the sole owner of all the material presented here. Any similarities in name are coincidental. I should also mention that this is a novella, meaning it is quite short (10 chapters to be precise). Still Killing
Still Killing is a very bloody fantasy story based on an old internet copypasta. You might have read it before. My version goes a little something like this: Deep in the woods, the quemer have fought unending wars since times misremembered. Long before man even waged wars, the quemer fought each other endlessly, and now with man's last gasp of irradiated air, the Quemer are somewhere out there in the woods, still killing. Basically, it is a short story beginning to stretch that definition wherein some elven rangers conduct a spy mission deep behind enemy lines as mysterious explosions blast the horizon. It is quite violent and I learned a lot of good lessons from creating it. With this one more than all of my other work, I encourage you, if you think you can do it better, please take the concept and run with it. I got the idea from a not unknown copypasta after all, so this one barely belongs to me. I wish you more luck than I recieved. ; 3Complete
