Lee Harper is a sixteen to be seventeen year old girl with the battle wounds of a man in war.
She is no princess to be rescued or coddled, she is her own dragon and rescues herself. Coming from an abusive home that has scarred her emotionally and physically, she is welcomed into a new family.
But coping with the fresh memories of physical and emotional abuse is anything but easy, where Lee must overcome the side effects that taint her everyday life.
Thrown into the deep end where she decides where her path to life is paved, Lee must accept the fact that the past cannot be changed and her heart must remain resilient when the dark cloud shrouds her life.
Growing as a person, Lee must allow people to enter her life. Through thick and thin, she experiences the roller coaster of acceptance that comes along with friends, family and possibly love.
