I'm tired. Very tired. Somehow, I gain enough self control to pull my body groggily out of bed. The carpet, so soft, rushes up to my face. My legs aren't supporting me. They are lead, making me drown in the pool of hopelessness. I can't breathe, but tiredness holds my grasp and pulls me even deeper down into unconsciousness. But just as I am fading away, I start to remember.
Brooklyn is paralyzed from the waist down. She is constantly monitored by the hospital she's at. But one day, the nurses have a suspicion about a tumor in Brooklyn's head. If it's cancerous, she only has a twenty percent chance of living. Brooklyn's life is slowly falling apart. But can the one capable of saving her have the guts to do it?

WORK IN PROGRESS‼️ ─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ── There was no noise; I was at peace, and ironically, the stone-cold pavement never seemed warmer as my blood oozed out of me and around me like a painted canvas. I was slowly losing consciousness, but my mind never seemed happier now that I was dying. The white walls with big bright lights did not resemble heaven; in fact, it was quite the opposite. I thought I had died. When I came to, I found myself in this strange place, disoriented and confused. I looked around and found another five pairs of eyes looking at me with the same emotion swirling in their gaze. Now, 15 years later, I train with these girls. Our makers take care of us, feed us, and make sure we are clean, healthy, and fit. Some of us never had that; that's probably why it took so long for us to realize we were being used. The dirty work they made us do, none of us questioned it. How could we when we were taken off the streets? For a chance at normalcy, we settled for anything, even if that meant blurring the lines of right and wrong. After a mission gone haywire, we started noticing, and now we strike back to take our voices and reclaim the power that was used on us as a way to control us. It was a bright, summer day. Mr. and Mrs. Evans were both in the hospital, ready to give birth. But they were really scared. It's their first child so Mrs. Evans was really afraid of how it might go. "It's okay, honey. It'll be okay." Mr. Evans tried to reassure his wife, stroking her head soothingly. "But what if the baby comes upside down? What if there's something wrong with her? What if it hurts?" She asked questions so quickly that Mr. Evans doesn't even have time to answer any of them. "The baby will be fine. Don't worry. It won't hurt as well. It'll be over before you even know it." But no matter what he said, she was shaking with fear and panic. The doctor came towards them. "Do we have a name for her?" She asks as they wait for a contraction. Mr. Evans looked between the doctor and his wife before answering, "Actually, we haven't-" "Hope" Mrs. Evans looked up at him, smiling.
