Darby Skates, proudly born and raised in the Outer Banks, is a born-kook. Although, she likes to think of herself as a floater between the sides of the island. Growing up on the island, Darby prizes herself on her connections and relationships with her peers. Being nowhere near the kook princess, but well-known. Whether people like her or not, that's irrelevant. As long as she is known, her life is just fine. Right?
In Darby's graduating summer, her public, picture-perfect life begins to topple down. Why can't the island just get along? That's above her head. But Darby finds herself stuck in the middle of chaos and drama. Is it her fault? Maybe. Does she care? Also, maybe. Maybe not.
