In the kingdom of Lyria, where each soul is bound to a "starlight" at birth, people's futures are written in the skies. Every choice they make, every path they tread, is influenced by their own unique star, visible only to them. Some people learn to control their starlight, manipulating destiny itself, while others become "shadowed"-bound to the will of others with no choice of their own.
Our protagonist, Ezra, was born without a starlight, making her an anomaly in this world. Seen as a bad omen, she's always lived as an outcast in her village. But her life takes a turn when she's recruited by the Celestial Syndicate-a mysterious organization of "starlight thieves" who manipulate others' fates to control power in the kingdom.
Ezra is paired with Finn, a brilliant yet cold young thief with a tragic past and the unique ability to "see" into the starlight of others, predicting their choices and desires. Together, they must unravel a chilling prophecy involving the "Fallen Stars"-a series of tragic deaths among royalty. But as their bond grows and their discoveries deepen, Ezra learns a dark secret about her own origins and the sinister reason she was born without a starlight.

My eyes were literally glowing, there was no mistaking it. It was not a reflection of light, or any of the other excuses I had used or others had assumed. They were glowing a light sapphire blue color. It was not a bright glow, but it was definitely a glow. Glowing eyes were not normal. Okay, at this point I had to admit it, I was no longer normal.
