What Dark Worlds Hold Before Us
When a young nameless girl wakes up in a peculiar world, she looses feeling and memory of herself. Why she got there, who she used to be, what some of the things she was feeling even were. She was like an empty shell. In this new world she's rescued by this strange hero that appears to be a young man, around the age of her own. He's a very secretive fighter, but is clearly doing all he can to help with his cheery attitude. Once she steps out into the world she comes to find something incredible. Floating islands, magical creatures, mysterious plants. All she knows is there are creatures that appeared to be men after her, only they resembled more of demons. Her new companion, Kaulder, has set out on a mission to restore her memory and save her from these awful men. Giving the lost girl a name and companionship. He shows her the glimmering world around as they head off on a mission to find a seer to bring back what she had lost. He hoped this creature could heal her broken memory. But at what cost? This is my first story written many years ago. Probably in between 2009-2010. It's not the best work, or even my best work, but it is definitely the only one that I've managed to complete. I can't remember what exactly spurred me into writing this story, but I know that this story is based on another creative work expressed through a different medium. You might be able to figure it out from the first chapter itself. The only person whom I can confirm finish reading this story is my wife (then girlfriend) who followed my story and waited for me to send her the following chapters upon its completion. I'm not sure what were her comments every time she reads a chapter, so maybe you can give me some feedback today? The story is generally considered as a mystery/thriller, but maybe you can give it a better description? I know that I love to write both academically and write creatively. I've had many ideas and unfinished works during my younger days. If this story takes off, I might consider going back into writing. It was my dream to be a casual writer/author when I was younger. Avalon has been having dreams of someone so special yet unknown to her since her accident. She constantly loses memories when she passes out at random times. Her two best friends, who began dating not too long ago, seem to be acting strange towards her.
