Mark meets up with his ex-girlfriend Julie from high school and to Mark's surprise she brings an 11-year-old girl named Julia with her who turns out to be his daughter. Fast forward 2 months later late at night Mark is woken up by 2 police officers with Julia with them. Mark is told that Julie has been locked up for drug possession and lists Mark, down as Julia's father. Mark enrolls Julia in the nearby Primary school and one day they get a visit from 2 youth workers from the nearby drop-in youth service, they hand out a bunch of pamphlets that outline the type of services they offer and one of the pamphlets Julia picks up is about LGBTQIA+ issues and Julia reads about 'what are trans people', after some research online and understanding what bring trans is Julia builds up the courage to tell Mark. Mark is thrown sideways after Julia coming out and has to learn about this new thing he never had to be involved with before.
