During World War One, many Anzac's died. Many of them were recovered and buried with their name carved into their deeply respected headstone. But, many of them were unknown. Some soldiers, were so mutilated, so torn up, so burnt, that when they died, they were completely unidentifiable. To this day, those soldiers are deeply respected, despite being unrecognised. This story, is the theoretical, story of an unknown, Anzac's life. Hope you enjoy!

It is 1914, and Henry Anderson is watching the world descend into war. Like many young men at the time, he is fascinated by the idea of warfare and glory. Henry enlists in the military against his parents' wishes and throws himself into the life of a British soldier in Flanders. But it is far from what he expects: Henry's fantasies of righteous battle fade into the grim reality of gruesome death and shell-shock. He and his fellow soldier Jacob must help each other survive the cruel trenches, but it is no longer certain that either of them will return to England alive. Told in journal entries and letters from Henry's sister Elizabeth, this reveals the realities and horrors of World War I, on the battlefield and in the homefront. I wrote this for a history project while studying WWI and got way too involved in it, so here you are. WARNINGS: gun/bomb/gas-related violence, war descriptions, graphic death, suicide attempt. I will mark specific chapters with warnings and give summaries of those chapters on the following one. Baker Street is a simple street in Hillford, a country town in South Australia. Number 39 is a cottage, with a slate veranda with roses that creep up the posts and old fashioned window panes. It was built with sandstone bricks and love in 1888 but the original owners eventually decided it wasn't for them and the cottage was left to rot. On May 13th 1914, 20 year olds indigenous, and patriotic Australian Angus Shearer and Ackland inhabitant and proud New Zealander, Lucy Hamilton moved in to the abandoned house. Happy and ready to see where life took them. The two fell instantly in love with the simple old house and knew it was everything they needed. But with the world succumbing to war a few months later, their lives are torn apart by loss and heartache and eventually, 39 Baker Street is once again abandoned and left alone. 100 years later, on May 13 2014, 20 year olds, Indigenous shearer, Eli Shearer and Christ Church local Elouise Green drive through Hillford as an engaged couple and come across an overgrown house with a slate veranda and old fashioned window panes. The two fall instantly in love with the simple old house and get to work straight away. After making it their own, they decide to investigate. In the attic one day they come across a diary, the leather case coated in mud and a black and white photograph of a smiling couple, a soldier and his girl.Complete
