Venetia's family carries a curse. Every few generations, a person in her bloodline dies before they turn 18. It is the curse that has killed her father. It is the curse that left her great-grandfather a distraught widower. Can she, an almost average teenager lift the hex that has caused centuries of anguish and despair amongst the ancestors before her? Can she confess her true feelings to Octavia, the girl who trades good alongside her father in the busiest area of her village. Octavia's getting by just fine. She has a good business going on with her father. Before opening the trade center, money had always been tight. Because of this, her family could not provide the right herbs and medication, which eventually led to the passing of her mother. She had always been a bright girl. Even her mother's passing could not dim the fire that sparked contently in her soul. She was too young to remember anyway. It was when she met Venetia, her life changed completely.

(Complete) Folkelore Prequel "Stepping out of the carriage, I take a moment to let the flashbacks pass. So many memories surrounding this palace. And the man who owns it." Octavia never wanted to be the bad guy. She didn't ask for a ruthless father, or to be his right hand soldier. Still, she's sent on mission after mission, searching for the same thing. Power. Will her father's greed get her killed, or will it get her everything she ever dreamed of? ** note: this story does have some mentions of violence, abuse, war, and death. They are not gory or graphic, but they do play a role in the story and can't really be skipped. **
