I locked my fingers through Jace's. We slowly walked to Central. I was going to war, i can't die, i just can't. i chanted to myself. my feet were heavy, my heart was heavy. i was worried for me, Jace, Marie, mom. what would happen if i was shot and killed?
"Listen Rain. You'll be fine, i swear to God. Just do your thing, and you'll be home in no time." Jace said and let go. He kissed me on the cheek and wiped a tear from my face. He then turned to walk away, and I was left alone in front of Cenral Command. I fell to the ground and sobbed. I wanted him to come back, hold me in his strong, secure arms. I felt so alone. I wiped all my tears away and headed up the steps to Command. I took one last look behind me and hoped for the best.
