In February 1839, Portuguese slave hunters kidnapped 53 Africans from Sierra Leone and sold them to Spanish plantation owners in Havana, Cuba. The Africans were then put aboard the Amistad to be transported to a Caribbean plantation.

On July 2, 1839, the Africans revolted, killing the ship's captain and cook and taking control of the ship. Led by Joseph Cinqué, the Africans forced the ship's owners to return them to Africa. However, the navigator, a Spaniard, sailed the ship north instead.

Everything is not what it seems and soon, Danny finds herself in the middle of a world she didn't even knew existed outside of fiction novels and movies. Not only does the town seem bizarre, but her senses heighten, her temper is out of control, and her hunger amplify. Throw in an arrogant, selfish, sexy, possessive player who didn't even want her in the first place, her life just seamlessly attract madness.
