Ariella Quinn is quite done with boys. After a series of failed relationships and three annoying brothers, she's ready to chalk the male race up as a failure. However, soon enough she finds herself diving headfirst into a relationship with her best-friend-turned-boyfriend, Daniel Brindle. He's a great guy with a great sense of humor and a charismatic personality, and all the girls are certainly jealous of Ari's fortune. Ariella just has one little problem. Ashland Jourdin is Ari's geometry tutor, and on top of being handsome, he has a carefree personality that draws Ari in like a moth to a lamp. After trying so hard to live up to all of the expectations of her friends and family, spending time with Ash's free spirit is a welcome rest. Adding to this already big problem is Ari's friend Shiela, who is starting to do some strange things, her unstable mother, who doesn't quite know what to do with herself after the big incident, and the sudden truths that make Ari start to question just how much of everything is a lie. Ari's life is spinning around in confusion, and she has to make a choice. Is she going to let the current sweep her away? Or is she going to swim towards solid ground?
