Anubis-born Atsushi Matsumi-is a young man from the outskirts who dreams of a better life for himself and his struggling family. His goal was to join the guild, a prestigious path for warriors and adventurers, but due to systemic inequality and corruption, that door is closed to him. Instead, he becomes a mercenary-and later an assassin-carving his own path outside the laws and limitations of the kingdom.

Through his freelance missions, Anubis uncovers the grim reality behind the capital's glittering walls. He learns how the ruling class exploits the people, how prices are manipulated to keep the poor desperate, and how the middle class has all but vanished. While other nations flourish, his homeland is rotting from the inside.

As tensions rise and cracks form in the kingdom's foundation, Anubis realizes that his journey is no longer about survival or success-it's about justice, change, and exposing the rot festering in the heart of his nation.
