Anubis - also known as Atsushi Matsumi- a young man that came from the sticks who wants a better life for himself and his family, finds himself as a mercenary instead of at his dream job of being in the guild.

This allows him to go on missions that he sees fit for himself instead of going through regulations and restrictions. As a mercenary assassin, he finds out about the gruesome details of the capital and soon understands what's being going on behind closed doors. Why so many commoners are having a harder time getting ahead, and how the middle class is non-existent because of the massive increase of prices and how the economy itself is forcing the nation to go under while other nations across the world are thriving and noticing these weaknesses.

Anubis finds out about how the country may be doomed to fall and finds his true purpose amongst this chaos.
