17, reckless, not a care in the world. What happens when escape presents itself?

Link believes he could get away with anything. He's spent his entire life fending for himself and his very sick mother, and distracts himself with crime. He'd do anything to escape. While on suspension from school and while his mother is in hospital, Link turns to substance abuse to mask his fear of her death. In the meantime, he meets Zelda. Radiant, colourful, healthy, happy; everything he's been missing. And as his addiction grows, she represents his escape into a world of his own making. She has no idea about the depths of his illness, and won't until it's far too late.
