Lilith Grey is a nineteen year old college student with her whole life ahead of her. Her boyfriend, Gregory, is a medical major, on the verge of graduating. She's not a normal party girl, but on the one night that she goes to the club with Gregory and his friends, she meets a woman. A rather attractive woman. Lilith had never experimented with women before-being almost 100% sure that she's straight-but this woman catches her eye. Her name is Esmeralda, but what Lilith doesn't know, is that Esmeralda is a vampire.
Esmeralda Hemingsworth may be a vampire, infected with the long uncurable disease of immortality and along with it, isolation. Unable to set foot in the sun (because these vampires don't sparkle) she travels through the night, going into various clubs and bars, searching for her next meal, but when she first sets her eyes on Lilith, she wants more than her blood, she wants her heart. Esmeralda has always been desperate for love and affection since she lost her lover during the siege of their castle. She wants Lilith, and she is determined to get her.
After Lilith is turned, she becomes Esmeralda's angry little worker, running errands here and there through the night while Esmeralda runs the world's biggest (vampire-owned) corporation in the United States. Lilith has a lot of learning to do in a short time. Can she do it? Or will they both burn at the stake?

I smile as I look up at the stars, that are twinkling brightly. They're so beautiful. I can't wait for my walk in the park. I start to feel dizzy and think about going inside. I'll just stay another minute, I decide, rubbing my shoulder. I sit on one of the outside chairs, however jump up when I discover that it's wet, the icy cold water soaking through my trousers.
