Astarion ascended just like he wanted. Tav helped just like he asked. People change just like they were warned. Fair warning: Ascended Astarion is the villain, Tav frequently disassociates and justifies Astarion's behavior to themselves and the other companions. Domestic violence is implied but not depicted out-right. Verbal abuse is kept to a minimum. Two major characters will die eventually. An alternative epilogue at Withers' party. Still in progress but I feel inspired and it's a short one. I will probably update frequently I haven't written fanfiction in 11 years. The Heroes of Baldur's Gate... and Me
I watch Tav as she strides through camp, her fiery red hair flowing around her shoulders, sunlight glistening off her golden breastplate. She is strong, determined, and brave. The whole camp love her, the men tripping over themselves to be close to her, ready to follow her into battle at a moments notice. She is beautiful, the epitome of grace.... What a bitch I shake my head, ashamed at my petty thoughts. Jealousy has always been a weakness of mine. But I cannot help but compare myself to Tav, everything I am not. Surely there was a mistake? Why would the Dream Visitor help me? A 36 year old mother, her adventuring days behind her? I'm just a regular person, a nobody? What benefit could I possibly bring to this group of incredible heroes? There has definitely been a big mistake.
