We both Lose in the end

Alexa's parents died in an assassination, she was taken to her Father's best friend house, where she lived for until she was 16. Her abused 'Mother' she called Ma'am, forced her to go int the military after learning she could shapeshift at the age of 6. Her Fathers best friend ran away and is missing, She had a younger brother--not blood related-- who killed himself because of Ma'am. Alexa blamed herself for all these bad things happening, Until her abusive Adoptive Mother tried to kill her.
Sebatain, her blood related uncle, who also happened to be the King of Ukitian takes her in. She experiences changes and hates them. She becomes the 2 in line to the throne and began to invent something that can fly.
A war breaks out and she somehow gets involved. Her plane crashes in enemy territory. She has to find some way to get out of the country, or will she become more involved than she ever thought she would?
