THE EDGE OF THE BLADE I : RIFTS IN THE PATH

Tsushiro Yamada and his brother Yushiro lived a tough life of poverty with their mother after their father's death. Their lives changed for the worst when their village was burned down by a djinn named Jarad who also killed their mother in cold blood. Just as he was about to kill them an old man named Kosuke saved them and fought the foe but lost. Yushiro tried to fight as well but was cut down. Tsushiro driven by anger picked up Kosuke's sword and charged at Jarad but lost his life while Jarad only got a minor scratch on his face. Tsushiro woke up to a meadow with a golden stream and giant cherry tree with petals floating in the air. There he met a being named Ryunosuke who gave him a second chance at life but this time as an ashura samurai, a force that battles the djinn. In this new life he has only one objective. To defeat the djinn and avenge his family.
