The Prescott family seemingly had everything one could wish for to be happy.

Neil Prescott was a talented salesman, while his wife stayed home, keeping their house so immaculate that the whole neighborhood envied the mouthwatering aroma wafting from their kitchen whenever Maureen was at the stove. And then there was Sydney. The golden child. The apple of their eyes.

Sydney Prescott was the kind of daughter every parent dreams of raising. Outstanding in her studies, she was as beautiful as she was brilliant, and had even caught the attention of Billy Loomis, the perfect boyfriend any girl could ask for. Billy was a loving young man, one of the star players on the high school football team, and the son of a prominent lawyer.

In short, the Prescotts were the epitome of the perfect American family. A large house, a well-manicured garden, and friendly neighbors. Nothing seemed capable of darkening their flawless life, a life where every day was more perfect than the last.

Except for one thing.

Every last weekend of the month, a shadow would mar this otherwise pristine picture. A nightmare for Maureen, an insignificant detail for Neil, and a near stranger to Sydney.
