On an unknown island, far away from any sort of civilization, the United States scientists have found a way to create brainless, soul-sucking creatures primarily known as zombies in an underground laboratory. Despite the fact of it being dangerous, the president of the United States of current times, William Howard Taft, has wished to see these creatures. But, havoc is reeked on the ship that is carrying them as the zombies break loose of their confinement cages, killing every person on the ship. Just before reaching the harbor, the captain is killed, causing the ship to crash into the dock, the zombies exiting the ship and killing many people, causing the news forecast to show and document everything to the public. This makes President Taft start to panic, leading to his firm actions of sending young soldiers out, one of which being a boy named Elijah Collins. Will Elijah survive, or will he die trying?All Rights Reserved

Unfortunately, he quickly discovers that the new world does not follow the same logic that it did before. TL;DR - Most of the world died from a flu pandemic so there's a post-apocalyptic type situation where demons possess people.

Being mostly made up of impoverished individuals, it is not surprised that they got cured cheaply and lastly, despite being the main test subjects. Lochlyn is their representative. She just wanted an education beyond elementary school. A little luckier stricken part of the infected population evolved into reverents. Reverants have a feudal system over the zombies to "keep them in order". The luck may have had to do with them being upper-class when being treated. Basilica is their representative. At eighteen, she wanted body modifications, a job, and etc... as a rite of passage entering adulthood. At least that's what she was thinking. The more she was told no, the more she wondered what she could do. There are still uninfected humans left in the U.S.A. Most of them are middle-class. Katrina is their representative. She gained a family member, but lost two. She aches to find out why she can never return home again. The three eighteen-year-old females, along with their beaus, journey for truth, equality, justice, restoration, love, and freedom lead them to the same end: the capital.
