Jin, a samurai who fought beneath the Elden Lord Godfrey for Marika the Eternal and was banished alongside so many others, finds himself alive and back in the lands that exiled his people. Hounded by the spirit of some woman and her spectral steed, he attempts to track down the other samurai of his clan only to encounter five sick girls struggling to get by in the diseased wasteland of Caelid.
Raised in a clan where violence and death was the norm, something he spent all of his life reveling in, Jin is well aware that is he far from what one might consider the ideal caretaker but nevertheless, he finds himself taking care them against all logical reason.
