After training for over a year to fulfill her destiny as Dragonborn and defeat Alduin, Ylva knew she would need a challenge. Joining the Companions in Whiterun seemed like the only guild she could ever call home. But she still doesn't feel quite settled. None of the Companions know she's the Dragonborn, the savior of Skyrim. And she doesn't want them to know. What would they say if they knew? Would they respect her? Or would they hate her and tell her to leave? Would they scoff at the idea that a woman barely into her adulthood had been the one to save them? Maybe not all of them, but Vilkas, one of the most respected members within the Circle, and one of the most honor-bound men she has ever met, can't seem to fathom that thought. Because of this, Ylva doesn't know if she could ever tell her new family who she truly is.

Third story to "His Harbinger," sequel to "Something to Protect." Everything makes much more sense if you at least read "His Harbinger" first. Vilkas x Dragonborn (established) Farkas x Lydia (also established and a bit background) Based on my play through of the Dragonborn DLC with my Dragonborn Krinna Dovh, a female Nord. Krinna has visions and premonitions so there are some things she just knows (continuing a headcannon established in the first two books). Mostly told from Vilkas's perspective, with occasional snippets from the Dragonborn's perspective. Also explores aspects of married life; Vilkas being hot-tempered, but sweet and loyal. Story is set after the Companions quest line, the civil war, and the main story line is complete (events of "His Harbinger") and after the Dawnguard DLC (events of "Something to Protect") Also not entirely cannon compliant. And of course this is a fanfiction, the only thing unique to me is my specific characterization of the Dragonborn, everything else belongs to Bethesda, including portions of the dialogue. And lastly, marked mature for some strongly suggestive occasions (I won't write the details, but they're married), and occasional vulgar language.

I'm hoping it's equally enjoyable for those who've played the game and those who haven't. Trigger warnings: rape is mentioned, one is attempted and prevented, but none are completed. Some other sexual assault. The first chapters are PG-13, but later ones become R-rated. (Feedback on appropriate ratings appreciated.) Skyrim is part of the Elder Scrolls series of games, copyright by Bethesda Softworks. The image for the book cover is from the game. I've only posted Part I here, but will soon post the rest (four parts total, 62 chapters). I've worked in nonfiction up to now because it's easier for me to describe places and events I can experience first-hand. She had helped Urgrad, her best friend and love, kill the leader, Kodlak. Soon the Companions want revenge and attack her camp. She gets drawn away and is found by a man. A man she's met a few times before. Farkas. She joins the group and they train her. Her destiny falls into place as her life is quickly changed as she falls for the werewolf named Farkas. I update frequently! The chapters start of slow but I promise they get better! THIS STORY IS BASED OFF A ONESHOT BY: @TheDragonBreath her account isn't valid but the first few chapters based off her one shot. The story is called 'Of Fond Memories' and is really good.

Ylva has no idea what to expect, but she does know one thing. This adventure will end with either Miraak or herself at the end of the other's blade.
