This is now the year 2065 of the post-apocalyptic era of the Philippines. Monsters from myths and legends roam around the cities to bring fear and wreak havoc to civilization and forcing the human race close to its extinction.

After the human race's downfall a place called Shelter was established in the island of Mindanao, which became the only hope and utopia for the rest of the surviving races. The organization behind Shelter built and divided the survivors into four factions that correspond to their strength and abilities. Keepers- they keep everyone in place, safe, and protected. Order- they were the ones who prioritize the order and peace inside the Shelter. Sage- they who are called the wise men; the ones that taught and kept all the excerpts and archives of the ancient history and knowledge of the human race. Lastly, the Farmers- they were gifted with an ability to cultivate land and produce food that sustains all the humans living in the Shelter.

Among those who survived in the age of the Great Extinction there was a woman known for her fighting prowess and combat skills named Najia and this is her story.

Five Filipino doctors, driven by a thirst for scientific advancement, formed their own company, The Umbrella Corporation. Their ambition? To conduct groundbreaking experiments on the unsuspecting residents of Quezon City, targeting a diverse range of subjects: babies, children, teenagers, parents, the elderly, and more. Years of tireless research culminated in a series of trials. The first patient, initially showing signs of remarkable progress, took a horrifying turn. They transformed into a zombie, the project's first resounding failure. Despite this setback, the doctors pressed on, driven by an unwavering conviction in their work. From Patient two to Patient six, they continued their experiments, each test pushing the boundaries of human resilience and, ultimately, sanity. Chaos erupted as Patient six managed to escape, leaving a trail of terror in their wake. In the midst of this unfolding nightmare, Patient seven, a young woman who had been in a prolonged coma, emerged. Her return was not only a testament to the human will to survive but also a stark reminder of the dangers of unchecked ambition. As she confronted her own father, she made a chilling decision - to offer herself for testing by the other doctors, a choice born from an unfathomable desire for answers, regardless of the consequences. A virus spread throughout the whole world without anyone realizing until it was too late. People were turning into zombies, flesh-eating human corpses. The government desperate for salvation opened its hidden bunkers. Some fled to other countries for a higher chance of safety. Some died on the way to those said bunkers. Some turned to those creatures they were running from. Those who are lucky and rich enough to enter the bunkers are now momentarily safe and hidden wherever those bunkers are. But it's only a matter of time before those bunkers break. While many were left outside, fighting for their lives and trying to survive, they were sleeping in comfort inside those metal havens. Unbeknownst to those who were safely enjoying themselves inside, there was something more outside, waiting for the bunkers to open. Ziya, who wanted to find her sisters, started to travel. At first, she was alone until a few people found her and became her companions while traveling the dangerous highways. How they manage to trust her despite being aloof, she doesn't know. But they knew she was a great help to them. With her unnatural instinct and calmness while fighting the zombies despite being half blind she was pretty useful to let her go. They kept asking other questions but eventually stopped when they realised they won't receive answers anytime soon. They were just letting her join them because she's useful and they felt guilty leaving her alone. To her defense, she doesn't trust them, and she doesn't want them to trust her. She thinks they're a bit stupid for letting her join but staying quiet about it. She just wanted to stay alive and find her sisters. And she just needs to keep her own secrets and lengthen her patience. •Cover edited by me. •Photo of Sofia Isella from Pinterest.
