Harley Cassidy was born and raised in the Outer Banks, in one of the wealthiest and most respected families in the town. The Cassidys were known as "kooks," a term used to refer to the wealthy elite of the community.
When Harley was 13 and Lexi was 12, their mother tragically died in a car accident. This event devastated the family. Their father, a marine archaeologist, became obsessed with finding the Royal Merchant, a legendary pirate ship loaded with gold. His fixation on the Royal Merchant led him to neglect his daughters, delving into maps and old documents, hoping to find the lost treasure.
After their mother's death, the family moved away from the Outer Banks, trying to escape the painful memories and the pressure of the "kook" community.
After 3 years, the Cassidys decided to return to the Outer Banks, hoping to reconnect with their roots and bring their father back to reality. Returning home meant facing painful memories of their childhood, but also finding their best friends.
