Sao liked to consider himself a prodigy when it came to magic. For as long as he could remember, he had a very close relationship with Bast, the cat demon who gives him the power to cast magic. With Bast by his side, Sao dreams of becoming an Umbra professional player and joining the ranks of spellcasting athletes. But first, he needs to get into a witch vocational school if he ever wanted to refine his techniques and get scouted. There is just one thing that sets him apart from the rest of the prospective witches at Belliersez Coast Academy: Sao can see demons while others can't.

His nosy neighbor Linda, the woman who takes care of him now that Sao's mother is permanently disabled, always told him to hide this secret. But when strange disappearances happen at school, Sao's gift of sight may put him at an advantage. The school blames these disappearances on the radical cultists of the Keyserlingi Group, but Sao isn't so sure he believes it. Plus, there's the notorious Phoenix Society running the school's underground tournaments, a previous headmaster who very suddenly left so a secretive new one could take her place, priestesses who constantly patrol the halls at night, and another student who appears whenever something weird happens. Surely, there is something wrong with the school itself, right?

No matter what happens at Belliersez Coast Academy, Sao can't go back home. He can't keep falling into Linda's hands.
